How to join our membership
Many people have questions about salvation, baptism, and church membership -- this is not unusual. Several of the most frequently asked questions are listed below, along with the answers to those questions. If after reading this section you still have questions, please call our church office at (603) 889-4020 or email us at: secretary@nashuabaptistchurch.org
By Letter

A church letter is a correspondence between churches recommending a member to another church. Our church receives church letters from other churches of like faith and order. Our church clerk will write your previous church and ask for a letter from them stating you were a member, and that you are being dismissed from their membership rolls to become a member of this church.

By Statement

If you have ever been a member of a Baptist Church or another church of like faith and order, and for some reason cannot obtain your church letter, you may present yourself for membership at the time of invitation. Tell the pastor what you want to join this church and he will lead the church to receive you "by statement." This is simply a statement that you have received Jesus Christ as your personal savior and have been baptized by immersion.

By Baptism

Upon a profession of your faith in Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you may present yourself for membership in this church as a candidate for baptism by immersion. This is new for many who were baptized as infants, but the Bible word for baptism means to "dip or place under" water. Some think we received our name from this practice; actually, our name came from early critics who persecuted us for NOT baptizing our children. (We believe children are saved by the grace of Christ since they have not yet reached the age of accountability.) We believe baptism is reserved for people old enough to make this conscious decision.

Following your presentation for membership by one of these three ways, the church votes to formally receive you at its next business meeting.
